For about a year, I struggled to find a suitable transformer that wouldn’t emit odors, as a simple adapter wouldn’t suffice. Eventually, I opted to purchase one from Amazon, and I absolutely adore it! Made in Korea, it ranks among the top-used curling irons there, yet its voltage seamlessly integrates with US outlets without any issues. As a hairstylist with experience using various curling iron brands, I find this one particularly impressive due to its ceramic plating, which is gentler on the hair compared to hot tools irons. I’ve used it to create large glamour waves and beachy waves. While the temperature can reach up to 400°F, it’s displayed in Celsius. For those with thick, straight hair (such as Asian hair), you can turn the heat all the way up (to 200), but I typically set mine to 180-190. Throughout the day, the curls gently relax, and the following day, my hair resembles a salon blowout. For those with fine hair ends, achieving a firm hold might prove challenging as they are quite soft. I start by curling the ends inward all over, then proceed to curl the mid-shafts, resulting in a beautiful finish. If your hair is shoulder length or shorter and you desire smaller curls, I recommend opting for the smaller size, indicated by its purple color. In the future, I plan to purchase this iron in all available sizes, and perhaps even backups for salon use. While this waver is of nice quality and performs reasonably well, I do find its price to be slightly steep for what it offers. I also own the Bed Head deep waver, which I still prefer over this one. Given my fine, straight hair, I’m not surprised that I need to hold this waver on each section for a longer duration to achieve the desired waves. To enhance the hold and shape of the waves, I pair this waver with Paul Mitchell’s “Hot Off the Press” spray, which I highly recommend for individuals struggling to maintain curls or waves. While this tool does require a bit more time for styling, the results are undeniably beautiful. However, I do feel that the Bed Head deep waver provides a bit more volume and seems to work slightly faster on my hair. Despite this, the Vodana waver is still a quality tool. In my opinion, it should be priced about $20 lower considering that similar wavers are available at a lower cost. The unique shape of this waver is appealing, and I appreciate the included hair clip and rubber accessory for securing the waver closed. I use both accessories regularly.
